A marine chronometer by Charles Frodsham, c.1858, the two-day duration timepiece in brass gimbal mounting, the 4 inch silvered dial marked 'Charles Frodsham, 84 Strand London, No.2898, Roman numerals with subsidiary state-of-wind (56 hour) dial flanked by garter framed crowned medallions: 'By Appointment to the Queen' and ' Gold Medal of Honour/Paris Exn.1855', subs seconds dial at VI. In three-part brass bound mahogany case with glazed mid-section, set with an ivory disc with maker's details and serial number, with 'tipsy' key. 17.5 x 17.5 x 18 cm.
