(i). An important Western Australian silver plate trotting trophy engraved as follows the Gloucester Trotting Cup October 6th 1932 presented by HRH the Duke of Gloucester to Mr. A Thomas owner of 'Adonaldson' Mile Rate 2.12 1/4 Donated by Arthur bell & Sons Ltd. Upon a turned timber stand, an engraved plaque stating, 'Owner and Breeder A.F Edward Nth Dandalup' total, height 61 cm, makers mark on base, 'Lewbury', Australia together with a file of relevant news items, a 1933 Western mail image of the horse, buggy and driver as well as many other plastic coated relevant news articles, memorabilia. (ii) Winners sash (iii) Two race meeting programs IV. Framed contemporary black & white photograph of Adonaldson, dated 1933 note the race was started by the Duke by firing a pistol. Adonaldson had to contest 7 qualifying heats before being eligible to enter the great race. The handsome black stallion went on to win 30 races and had 16 seconds and 11 thirds. The cup made a return to Gloucester Park where it was put on display to mark the 50th anniversary of the Dukes visit to Perth. Provenance: original horse owner, Mr. A.F Edwards, then his nephew Mr.M.
