The 1959 Caulfield Cup, won by Regal Wench, 9ct gold, T. Gaunt & Co., Melbourne, the body with gently tapering sides flanked by two scroll arms, supported on a tapering stem above a stepped circular foot, inscribed 'Caulfield Cup / 1959 / Won By / W J. Murrell's / brm Regal Wench', hallmarked 'Gaunt's' and '9ct', together with the original octagonal fiddleback blackwood base, 690 gms, 32.5 cm high, 41 cm high (with base). Provenance: Mr W.J. Murrell, acquired 1959, Ms Sally Rich-Murrell and Ms Jackie Murrell, by descent from the above in 1997
