A rootwood carving of two laughing boys Qing dynasty, 19th century, both removable figures standing on one leg on the gnarled irregular base, the other leg raised and their hands outstretched as though dancing, the older figure with long hair tied around the crown, the younger boy with partly shorn head, a long coil of hair tied over his right ear, both with laughing expression, animated features and inset eyes, 61 cm high overall
