Australian silky oak longcase clock, c. 1858, eight-day movement, in the Gothic style, the circular white dial with Roman numerals and subsiding seconds, signed 'Flavelle Bro's & Co Sydney', the architectural hood with moulded triangular pediment, above a long tapering door over a square, base, height 196 cm, width 43 cm, depth 23 cm. Provenance: this clock was originally commissioned by the Lindsay family, south coast, NSW. Private collection of Mr. A. Schofield, 1986. Private clock collection, Clive, Pickering, Nowra, NSW, 1995. Private collection, Sydney. Other Notes: the movement has repair markings from Nowra, NSW, Brisbane, Southport QLD and Wollongong, NSW. This clock has been recently serviced by master Clockmakers, Camden, NSW
