A Nepalese pair of carved and painted Shaivite or Shakta book covers 17th century, the outer surfaces of carved wood, the inner surfaces painted with two female goddess figures to each cover, within an elaborate arch, each figure with four arms holding various attributes, and surrounded by flame mandorlas, each cover 8.5m high, 20 cm wide.
