A quality 19th century French walnut and ormolu bureau plat, the rectangular top with rounded ends, the ornate parquetry inlay with floral marquetry centre in fine detail, the frieze with two secret drawers flanking an ornate ormolu panel of industrious cherubs searching for knowledge, raised on tapered and fluted legs with square section mounts, the cross stretchered base of cross-over form, high quality, finely detailed ormolu mounts enhance this unique bureau.
