A rare autograph group of the complete 14-man 1953 British Mount Everest Expedition Team including Tenzing Norgay. After climbing Everest in May 1953 they returned to London in July on a BOAC Argonaut Speedbird airplane, on that journey the signatures of the entire team were secured on a BOAC postcard. In August, Hillary and George Lowe toured New Zealand performing speaking engagements, in Wellington they stayed at the home of John Pascoe the mountaineer and author. During that visit Lowe gave Pascoe's 11 year-old daughter Anna the postcard. In a Sydney Herald newspaper column of the time (Anna's uncle was a sub-editor) the postcard and the excitement of the circumstances of the visit are mentioned
