A.S. Brush & Co., Melbourne refractor telescope. Originally owned by E.J. Hartung, a well known Melbourne scientist. He was born in 1893 and studied chemistry at Melbourne University. His scientific interests included astronomy, he wrote a detailed handbook for astronomers 'Hartung's Astronomical Objects for Southern Telescopes. (Melbourne University press 1968) He had a private observatory in Woodend which was destroyed in the Ash Wednesday fires of 1983 (four years after his death), 161 cm high
