Mawson & Thompson of London obstetric instruments in velvet lined leather bag, the steel instruments, many with ebony handles, include four pairs of various forceps, a Smelie perforator and a baleen and ivory handled uterine sound; all fitted to the stitched black leather and purple velvet lined unfolding bag, gold tooled maker's mark. This set would accompany the physician to the home for delivery.
