A yellow glass 'scholars' vase, 20th century, the tapering shouldered body standing on a countersunk base, surmounted by a waisted neck with widely flared lipped rim, the sides well carved with a gathering of five scholar's seated and standing on a rocky ledge beside a tall pine tree discussing a scroll, the carving using the paler tones in the opaque egg-yolk yellow glass, the base incised with a four-character mark yi yuan jian zhi, 26 cm high
