A 19th century Maori carved canoe bailer, the wooden bailer of dark brown tone, shallow, flat and broad scoop, ridge line across, the phallic shaped inward curving handle flaring at the butt end, undecorated, a square suspension lug under the rim at the proximal end, two further pierced holes to the side. 29.5 cm x 50.5 cm x 12 cm.
