Description:
A 'famille-rose' double moon flask, early 20th century probably Republic period, (2), the two conjoined moon flasks each finely painted on either side with a medallion depicting different scenes of figures in a landscape setting, one of three men conversing, another with a figure fishing near some dwellings nestled among trees and mountains, another of figures poling a sampan on a lake, and another of scholars seated beside a waterfall, each accompanied with an inscription in black and three seals, the narrow sides profusely decorated in sepia and gilding with stylised floral sprays, and bats suspended with precious objects, and shou characters among flowers and foliage, repeated on the slender necks between ruyi -head and stiff leaf borders, the base inscribed in iron-red with an apocryphal six-character seal mark of Qianlong, wood stand, box, (2), 19.5 cm high.
