Rare bone Kaka Poria - bird ring, a bird ring of triangulated triple raised notching and hourglass incision at suspension hole. Fashioned from bone, possibly marine ivory. Fine patina. Young kaka were easily captured and tamed, they were held captive by a small leg ring called a poria, which had a small cord attached to prevent the bird flying off.
