19th century, Qing Dynasty: very large landscape painting of a mansion protected by an enormous rock and small hills, with its own boat ramp (lower left). Surrounded by old trees and bushes, it was secluded, and enjoyed by scholars from verandahs around tea houses on lower levels. Further into background, another mansion, on Cliff edge is covered in mist and fluffy clouds. Seeming to float in the heavens, painted in ink and muted soft green, brown and grey.
