Description:
A 'blance-de-chine' figure of Guanyin, 18th / 19th century, seated on a high rockwork base with both legs pendent, wearing long flowing robes, tied at the waist and falling open at the chest to reveal a beaded necklace, her bare feet protruding from beneath her skirt, her hair swept up into a high chignon held with a pin, and small diadem centred with Amitabha Buddha, 39 cm. Provenance: The mark is by a potter from the He family who were the most significant family of Dehua potters.
