*** A blue and white charger, Wanli period, the interior painted with insects and flowering plants growing beside rocks in an octagonal landscape medallion, within diaper borders, the shallow widely flared sides with radiating petal-shaped panels of ribboned precious objects alternating with flowering stems, 36 cm diameter. Provenance: Spink & Son Ltd, London. Compare with a similar dish illustrated by Jessica Harrison-Hall, Ming Ceramics in the British Museum, London, 2001, pl. 11:107 ***
*** Two blue and white jars, Wanli period, each of squat globular form, decorated on the exterior with fruiting vine between formal borders around the base and shoulders, 16 cm and 15.5 cm high respectively ***
*** A 'Blanc-De-Chine' Dehua figure of Damo (Bodhidharma), 18th century, standing barefoot supported on a reed floating above the base of swirling waves, his hands clasped beneath the voluminous folds of his long layered robes, leaving his chest bare, his head slightly turned to one side with well defined features and penetrating gaze, the heavy brows and beard with tight curls, 25 cm high. Provenance: Compare with a similar figure of Damo illustrated by P.J.… ***

*** A 'Blanc-De-Chine' figure of Buddha, 19th / 20th century, wearing voluminous robes draped over both shoulders and falling in layered folds over a skirt tied at the waist with a long trailing sash, his chest bare revealing a beaded wan, 35.5 cm high. Provenance: Sydney L. Moss Ltd, London, The mark translates as 'reaching all, even the fishermen' known as the 'Fisherman' mark, which is mainly found on figures ***
*** A 'Blanc-De-Chine' Dehua figure of Adam, 17th / 18th century, standing barefoot on a rockwork base, his arms crossed in front, both hands clasping the ends of the short skirt draped around his waist, his upper torso bare, his head facing forward with smiling expression, his hair combed back behind his ears and falling to his shoulders, 23 cm high. Provenance: Exhibited: Blanc-de-Chine ***
*** A blue and white 'Deer' bowl, Wanli period, with steeply rounded sides and barbed everted rim, painted in rich inky blue on the exterior with eight panels enclosing differently depicted spotted deer reserved against ornamental rockwork and leafy branches, the interior with similar panels of flowering stems radiating from a central deer medallion, 15 cm diameter. *** A blue and white vase, transitional period, of beaker form, the tall flared sides painted with a bird in flight above flowering plants and bamboo growing beside rocks in a continuous garden scene, above a frieze of cloud scrolls around the waist and a band of pendent stiff leaves extending towards the flared foot, 22 cm high ***
*** A blue and white vase, Kangxi period, of ovoid form standing on a high domed foot and surmounted by a cup shaped mouth with everted rim, the fluted sides attractively painted in bright cobalt blue with trailing flowering stems rising from a band of lotus petals, the neck and foot with floral and formal borders, 15.5 cm high ***
*** A blue and white jar and cover, Kangxi period, of ovoid form, the sides painted on the exterior in bright cobalt with fan-shaped panels enclosing birds perched on blossoming prunus boughs, alternating with tall vases of flowers among precious objects, the shoulders encircled with a frieze of scattered flower-heads, below the narrow mouth, the domed cover encircled with a similar frieze around a floral medallion, 17.5 cm high. *** A blue and white bottle vase, Kangxi period, the pear-shaped body tapering to a slender waisted neck, painted on the exterior with lappet-shaped panels enclosing flowering plants and rocks, within underglaze-blue borders, below bands of upright and pendent stiff leaves encircling the neck, 15 cm high ***
*** A blue and white water dropper, Kangxi period, of Persian inspiration, the exterior painted with panels of flowering plants below a lappet border and zig-zag band, the slender tapering neck with further flowering stems rising to the narrow mouth, supported on a high flared foot pencilled with upright leaves above the brown-edged footrim, 18 cm high ***
*** A blue and white 'Dragon' bowl, Qianlong period, the rounded sides with everted rim, decorated on the exterior with two dragons pursuing 'flaming pearls' interspersed with cloud scrolls, above a continuous band of crested waves and rocks, the base with four character hallmark reading Zhi Yuan Tang Zhi, 13.5 cm diameter. Provenance: Christie's London June 1996, Lot 92, The mark reads made for the Hall of vast remoteness. ***
*** A green and yellow 'Medallion' bowl, mark and period of Kangxi, the exterior of the gently rounded sides finely incised and enamelled in green with ruyi, 12.3 cm diameter. Provenance: Christie's New York, March 1996, Lot 405 ***
*** A copper-red 'Fish' stemcup, Kangxi period, the gently rounded sides flaring to the lipped rim, decorated on the exterior in a thickly applied rich copper-red with three stylised fish, two depicted facing each other, the remainder glazed in white, supported on a high solid splayed foot, apocryphal Xuande mark in underglaze-blue within a double circle in the centre of the interior, 9 cm diameter. *** A 'Blanc-De-Chine' Dehua figure of hooded Damo (Bodhidharma), 17th / 18th century, standing supported on a reed floating above the base of swirling waves, one bare foot protruding from beneath the hem of his long flowing robes with skirt tied at the waist, the shawl draped over his head, leaving his chest bare and concealing his arms beneath the heavy folds, his bearded head turned to the side, his gaze lowered in fixed attention from beneath his tightly curled furrowed brows, 34 cm high ***
*** A 'Blanc-De-Chine' Dehua figure of Guanyin, 19th / 20th century, seated in dhyanasana, 32.5 cm high. Provenance: The mark is by the potter Xu Yun Lin who was part of the Xu family potters known for their elaborate details, light construction, hollow base and uniform milk white loose glaze. A Guanyin Buddha by the same potter is illustrated by P.J. Donnelly, Blanc de Chine, The Porcelain of Tehua in Fukien ***
*** A 'Blanc-De-Chine' a equestrian group, 18th century, of Wen Chang the God of Literature riding on his horse, accompanied by his male and female servants, the god wearing his scholar's robe and high hat seated astride the horse with tasselled bridle and trappings, the servants of much smaller stature standing to either side of the rockwork base dressed in tunics and pantaloons carrying their master's writing materials and books, 22 cm high ***
