An unusual tortoiseshell snuff bottle, Qing Dynasty, the pear shaped body well carved on either side with a portrait of a European lady in three quarters profile, both vignettes enclosed by scrolling borders and interspersed with foliate scrolls, a band of upright petals rising from the footrim and a beaded border around the waisted mouth, stopper en suite, 7 cm.
