An exceptional Gandharan sculpture of a Bodhissatva, c.2nd-3rd century AD, of Museum quality and significance, standing with sandaled feet with lion motif in relief above an elaborate pillared base with a central seated bodhisattva and two worshipping attendants in relief, his athletic torso adorned with a cluster of necklaces and dressed in a long flowing robe draped across his left shoulder and gathered at his waist, his visage of fine features with a wavy moustache below his hair arranged in undulating curls tied to a topknot and cascading down over his shoulders, fragmented nimbus to rear, exceptional detail, 82 x 27 cm, Ex-coll.
