A magnificent Gandharan sculpture of a jewelled Bodhisattva, c.2nd-3rd century AD, of Museum quality and importance, seated in dhyanasana with his hands in dhyana mudra above an elaborate pillared pedestal with two worshipping attendants in relief, his athletic torso adorned with a cluster of necklaces and long flowing robe draped across his left shoulder his visage of fine features, downcast heavy lidded eyes, straight nose and wavy moustache, his forehead with urna in relief, his wavy hair gathered in a topknot and secured by a plumed turban, circular nimbus to rear, superb detail, intact, 74 x 39 cm, Ex-coll.
