A well carved late Meiji C.1910 - early Taisho period ivory bridge carving unusual in that it is fully carved with a line of five fat sparrows inside a twisting grape vine. All the details are strongly carved and the whole piece is supported on a carved wooden rocky base, unsigned. Length 52 cm
