*** A Good Tall Meiji Period Walrus Marine Ivory Carving of a Street Vendor, he stands on a rocky plinth with a dog at his feet. He is holding a lantern and is supporting a Buddha figure with lotus sceptre that has appeared in the smoke above him. Sumi stained inkwork patterns on his robe. Tokyo School. Signed on red lacquer tablet. Height 40 cm ***
*** A Good Tall Meiji Period Marine Ivory Walrus Tusk Carving of the Goddess of Mercy, Kwanne (Chinese Kwanyin), she is standing on a rock base and holding her lotus sceptre. Two small devotee children gaze at her adoringly from below. The robes finely etched with sumi stained diaper patterns, dentine visible throughout. Signed. Height 39.5 cm ***
*** A Good Large Early Meiji Period Elephant Ivory Carving of a Samurai Warrior in Full Battle Armour, he stands on guard on top of a rocky outcrop holding a yari while his companion looks out below. Both figures and all the details are very well rendered particularly the armour. The Samurai are wearing tachi swords (part missing) denoting high rank. Tokyo School. Signed on a red lacquer tablet. *** A Fine Large and Rare Early Meiji Sectioned Marine Ivory Figure Group Carving, the farmer stands with a smile holding a basket of peonies and a locquats branch while his son carries a basket of the fruit. The details and sumi diaper tunic patterns well rendered. At least twelve sections of whale tooth and walrus tusk to make up this piece. Visable dentine in various spots on the figures. Height 28 cm ***
*** A Good Meiji Period Sectioned Ivory Okimono of a Standing Farmer, the smiling figure has a hoe and is wearing a hat. His right hand holds a tobacco pouch or Sagemono with manju and kiseruzutsu. Sumi inkwork decoration. Mostly carved from one piece with additions. Signed on base. Height 25 cm ***

*** A Fine Quality Meiji Period Okimono Figure Group, depicting a Jurojin like figure standing with scroll and fan beside a young Karako (Chinese boy) while two ducks feed at their feet. The ivory is of excellent quality and all the kimono details are well rendered. Duck eyes inlaid pearl shell. The boy holds a sceptre over his shoulder with suspended sack. Signed Dai Yoshiyuki. One duck and boy glued to base. Height 17.5 cm ***
*** A Large 19th Century Japanese Ivory Tusk Vase on Base, the massive curved section is well carved with a procession of ten figures amidst a landscape of buildings and pine trees. All this on a very finely pierced quatrefoil diaper patterned background. Minor faults. The oval ivory lid is missing its carved figure finial. Height 24 cm, including wooden base ***
*** A Good Lightly Stained Ivory Model of a Portable Ceremonial Shrine, all in fitted sections and carved with panels of Ho-o birds and dragons. The two tiered base has lotus leaf and lappet borders and the hinged small shrine doors opens to reveal Buddha in a gesturing pose. Lotus bud finial. Height 33 cm ***
*** A large Japanese Cloisonne Charger. Meiji Period. Circa 1890. The centre depicts flying Manchurian cranes above a peacock amongst bamboo and flowers. Wide floral border. Unsigned. Diameter 600m ***
