An Extremely Fine and Rare Imperial Quality 18th century Qianlong Chinese Cinnabar Lacquer Baluster Shaped Vase, on a carved wooden stand. Two major panels deeply carved with scenes of imortals playing Checkers or Go, under pine trees in a rocky landscape, with chrysanthemum foliage side panels. The Neck and base with spade shaped lappets of archaic forms and key pattersn. All the decoration on a very intricate diaper patters ground in dark red over charcoal lacquer. Silver inlaid key pattern and leaf tendrils on base. Height 37 cm (including stand)
