Description:
An ivory netsuke, late 19th-early 20th century, signed Tomomatsu. A very finely carved Sumo wrestler toad. He stands on a lotus leaf in typical pose wearing his apron fundoshi with inlaid tortoiseshell. Double inlaid eyes, the whole piece has a nice evenly worn patina. Height 4.7 cm
