A pounamu hei tiki with red wax eyes, Aotearoa, a small hei tiki crafted from dark pounamu. The head is tilted to the left shoulder, carved lines as facial features, red sealing wax to eyes. There are three fingers to each hand, resting on thighs. Gold ring through suspension holes, woven string with three small pounamu beads at the tie. Hei tiki, height 3.9 cm, width 2.6 cm, depth .3 cm, cord length 36 cm, Provenance: Private Collection, England, this taonga falls under the Protected objects act (1975).
