Rare Trobriand Islands 'Sakusaku/Munkuris' Kula canoe prow ornament, c.1950s, decorated in tones of black, red and white, 56 cm x 40 cm catalogue note: the term 'Sakusaku' seems to come from the Trobriands, while the same item is called 'Munkuris' in Gawa and the Marshall Bennett Islands.
