A cup/saucer/plate set from H.M.S. Hood, one of five only, this was presented to our vendor's great grandparents when the hood, together with H.M.S Renown visited NZ in 1924. (some cracks and chip commensurate with use on a battleship), height M.S. Hood was a battle cruiser in service with the British Navy during World War I and World War II. It was sunk during the Battle of the Denmark Strait by the German battleship Bismarck.

A large transitional style underglaze blue cylindrical vase, known in the West as a 'Sleeve' or 'Rolwagen' vase and popularised in the 17th century. Decorated with figures and musicians, while one boy holds a fan, the washes of blue are in Chinese taste, as are the 'Anhua' (secret decoration) bands top and bottom.
