An important Tibetan densatil gilt-bronze image of an offering goddess, Chopay Lhamo, 14th - 15th century. Being part of a group of caryatids, (usually four), supporting the throne of a major deity, with a Newari inscription on the back of the support, 'Puja Deva Tidala' ('A Petal for the Worship of the Deity'), followed by the number 'four', a single number 'three' at the front of the support. This is evidence that it was made by Nepalese craftsman, accounting for the exceptional quality of this piece.…

An ivory Balinese Kris hilt, Bali, Indonesia, 19th century. 11 cm high, including stand 16.5 cm high. The hilt is in the form of araksasa (demon) Pratima, superbly carved with intricate detail, with one arm raised behind his back ready to strike. In Hindu mythology raksasaare protective guardian demons that frighten away evil spirits and as in the kris hilt, protect the owner from harm.

The hilt is in the form of the Hindu deity Bayu,the God of the Winds, the father of Bhimaand the spiritual father of Lord Hanuman.
