Japanese Muromachi Wakizashi blade unsigned, circa 1530, with strong hamon & utsuri, ubu nakago & solid silver habaki. The blade is in traditional Japanese polish, which brings out the grnain of the forging & the temper details. The blade is mounted in high quality koshirae made in the mid 19th century. It has good quality same tsuka, with fine gold covered menuki depicting oars in turbulent water. The saya has very fine lacquer with polished horn & shibuichi alloy fittings, & slots each side for a kodzuka & a kogai. Condition: excellent to good, minor wear consistant with age.
