A Chinese porcelain painted tile, Republican period (1912-1949), attributed to Wang Dacang, painted with figures in a mountainous landscape, in fencai enamels, one studio seal of the artist, please see Christies South Kensington, Nov 8, 2013, Lot 1396 for a similar landscape by Wang Dacang, Wooden frame, 37 cm x 24 cm, Also see Simon Kwan 'Brush & Clay Chinese Porcelain Of The Early 20th century', pp354 & p355 for a similar tile of the same size, cat no 108, as well as pp352 & p353 for a vase by the artist, cat no 107 with the same studio seal, 'Da cang shui'. Provenance: A Queensland private collection, purchased in 1997 from the Walter and Shirley Williamson Collection. The family originated in Scotland and started up a ship building and fitting concern in Hong Kong in the late 1880's
