A good late Victorian silver plated spirit kettle, late 19th century, with maker's mark for James Dixon & Sons, Sheffield. The well decorated kettle, having a gadrooned lower body, with bright cut, beaded and foliate trimmed borders to the upper section and collar, gadrooned to the lid with an acorn finial, an arching handle with insulators and hinged to a circular base with tapering reeded legs terminating in paw feet, and a bracket for the burner.
