A Chinese archaic polychrome grey pottery model of a bear, Han Dynasty (260BC-220AD), carved and painted in red, white, black and mauve pigments, squatting with his paws on the head of buffalo. 17.5 cm high. For a similar example see a Han pottery bear-shaped vessel in James Lally, Early Dynasty China, April 1996.
