An 18ct gold demi hunter pocket watch; front cover with blue enamel Roman numerals, underside engraved to H Ryder from his master and friend Lord William Beresford Calcutta 1880 with white dial black Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds, push piece at 9 o'clock, dial and movement signed Arnold Cha Frodsham 84 strand London Dfmz, 04676 rear cove engraved from Calcutta and inlaid with blue and black enamelled monogram and case marked London 1880. Wt. 147.3g. * Lord Beresford was awarded a Victoria cross for gallantry in the face of the enemy on 3rd July 1879 at Ulundi, Zululand, South Africa
