A French Charles x ormolu mantle clock, circa 1860s, maker's mark 's' to mechanism, the silk suspension clock with a silvered dial with Roman numerals set within a rope twist bezel and decorative rockwork with a reclining maiden in Watteau style attire holding a bird, upon a tall plinth base with applied palm leaf motifs and a shaped base with rocaille feet. Height 42 cm. Width 29 cm. Depth 10 cm
