A Victorian Aesthetic movement sterling silver tankard, 1881 Birmingham, with maker's mark for Hilliard & Thomason, the straight sided tankard with a simple hollow 'C' form handle beautifully bright cut and prick worked with patterns, birds and insects in an oriental fern and bamboo setting upon a lustrous satin ground; crisply hallmarked to upper body. Silver weight 178gr. Height 9.5 cm
