A Carrarra marble figure group by GIOVANNI BATTISTA LOMBARDI 1823-1880 signed G.Lombardi. 156 cm high including the pedestal Giovanni Battista Lombardi was born in Rezzato Italy he moved to Rome mid 19th century, to study at the Accademia under Pietro Tenerani then set up his own studio in Rome. He was a highly regarded artist and reknown for this finely detailed workmanship.
