Description:
A pair of Chinese gilt and polychrome bronze Buddhist guardians (Tienhuang), Ming Dynasty, 16th/17th century, each one finely cast standing in full armour on a rockwork platform base fitted wood bases. 34.4 cm high and 35 cm high. Provenance: The late Mrs Evans of Santa Barbara California, who collected Asian art over a lifetime, discovered by Gary Major Douglas in a hidden storage unit.
