A Victorian electroplated British metal emu centrepiece, 19th century, Sheffield, with maker's marks for James Deakin & Sons, having an oval detachable dish with embossed floral designs, beaded edges and scrolled handles upon a central knopped and decorated stem, and flanked by two realistically cast emus upon vegetal bases, the whole raised on a shaped rectangular plinth with four decorative feet; maker's marks underside with numerals M 12 71.
