Grant Featherston (Australian, 1922-1995) suite, comprising a RS161 settee and two R160 armchairs, designs introduced c. 1951, moulded ply with outswept arms, re- upholstered in buttoned brown vinyl, raised on hardwood with outswept legs, all with factory marks to bases; with original receipt dated 1959 from 'Peter Bray Pty. Ltd., 445 Bourke St, Melbourne'; and a copy of a photograph taken c. mid-1960s showing the two armchairs in their original rust weave upholstery Literature: Terence Lane, Featherston chairs, National Gallery of Victoria, 1988, pp. 23 & 24.
