A very good Chinese lacquer wine cup, Warring States/Western Han, 4th-2nd century BC, very finely decorated with archaic motifs, in black, red and yellow lacquer, two characters under the base in red lacquer, 15.8 x 13 cm. Provenance: Private Sydney collection, R & V Tregaskis, Japanese collection.
