A Chinese Daoist landscape, Qing dynasty, 1644-1911, hanging scroll, ink and colour on silk, depicting a mythical tale of two men in a mountainous landscape looking for lingzhi sacred fungus, meeting two female immortals, signed Wang Duan(?), 155 x 49 cm. Provenance: The Littleton-Taylor Collection, Grays Auctions, Sydney, 1983, Exhibited, NSW Art Gallery exhibition 'Chinese Flower and Bird Painting of the Ming and Qing Dynasties', 5 may - 25 June 2000, *The Littleton Taylor Collection was formed in the first half of the 20th century. The family travelled extensively. The collection was sold in three auctions in the early 1980's after being in storage for around twenty years.
