A fine pair of George II sterling silver candlesticks, 1749 London, with maker's marks for John Cafe, with knopped stems upon a spreading shaped square base with acanthus embellishments to the corners, the waisted capital with removable acanthus decorated square form pans; engraved armorial to the base hallmarked underside. Silver weight 1163gr solid silver, not weighted; height 20.5 cm, with thanks to Mr Patrick Street for his assistance identifying this important maker
