A fine French .950 silver covered sugar basin, mid to later 19th century, with Minerva 1 and maker's mark for Debain with motif of 'A skiff with two little men', the generous lobed basin of squat form having scroll and twist handles with foliate attachments and raised on scroll feet with flared foliate embellishments, the slightly raised lid with a finely crafted leaf and fruit finial; hallmarked to body and lid, silver weight 452gr. Height 15.5 cm
