A fine French spelter figural clock, circa 1880s, dial by Paul Durand, movement by A.D Mougin and figure by Pigault, having a superb enamel and painted dial with Arabic numerals set within a delicate gilt bezel and framed by the 'Rockery' of the statue base, surmounted by 'L'Etude Affranchit La Pensee', featuring a classical male figure atop an eagle and raising a oil lamp; inscribed title and signature to base.
