Mid 19th century French gilded bronze Rococco style carriage clock, signed Scherer, Paris. An important gilded bronze French carriage clock of large proportion. The high quality ornately scrolled case flanked with multiple classical figures and putti to form four feet on the base adorned by a further four figures on the top of the scrolled columns and base of case. The top of the clock base is surmounted by further putti and an ornate handle. The two train striking movement with white enamel dial, Roman numerals, moon hands and subsidiary four alarm dial with elaborate rear door. Height; 25 cm
