A Napoleon III brass-inlaid ebonized secretaire À abattant, third quarter 19th century, in the Louis XIV manner, the rectangular top set with grey-veined white marble above a frieze drawer and a fall-front enclosing a writing surface and a bird's eye maple-lined interior of small drawers and open compartments, a further four drawers below, the fall and drawer fronts inlaid with cut and engraved brass in scrolling foliate designs, gilt metal mounts and brass stringing throughout.
