He pounamu kanioro-worked pounamu slab, a remarkable example of the labour undertaken by the early Maori craftsmen. Incomplete and representative of a Toki Pounamu in production. Front and back faces are flat and smoothly polished and saw cut to one edge. A medium light pounamu (nephrite). Pre European Classic Period. Length 16 cm. Width 8 cm
