Two silver boomerang letter openers by Stewart Dawson & Co, each modelled with a single figure of a kookaburra in profile set with glass eyes. Marks: S.D & Co on one, (anchor) Stg (crescent) on both. Combined weight: 62 grams. Length 14.5 cm. Provenance: private Collection. Notes: the additional marking here on one of the boomerangs is crucial in attributing various other items in this catalogue by this maker with this set of marks. Stewart Dawson & Co was a London based wholesale, retail and watch making business, with offices opened in Sydney and Melbourne around 1897.
