English silver Shooting trophy, modelled in the form of a christening mug, he baluster shaped body, each facet with circular vacant cartouche surrounded by scrolling vines, except for inscription: 'Won By/ Thomas Galvin/ at the First Newtown/ Rifle Meeting/ 150 Yards, Three Shots/ 27.5 Inches/ 5th March 1855'. Marks: London C1853 maker probably Fe. Weight: 165 grams. Height 11.5 cm. Provenance: Private Collection
