A French black marble mantel clock and tazze garniture Marti et Cie, circa 1870, the works marked 'Medaille De Bronze/Marti Et Cie', bell striking, the two-part enamelled Roman numeral dial marked 'Julliot - Meaux' with exposed brocot escapement, the case with a drum head raised on volutes flanking a glazed panel showing the Ellicott-type pendulum, on a moulded plinth base, inset with malachite tablets and with incised gilt decoration throughout, the pair of tazze conforming clock height 40.5 cm. Width 42.5 cm. Depth 15 cm
